How long does full auto detailing take?

It is one of the first questions we get: “how long do I leave my car?”. The answer depends on the service, but mostly on the vehicle’s condition when it arrives.

Typical timeframes by service

• Exterior hand wash: about 1 to 2 hours
• Interior cleaning: about 2 to 3 hours
• Interior and exterior package: half a day
• Polishing or light correction: 1 day
• 3 or 5 year ceramic coating: usually 1 to 2 days, preparation included

These are reference points. A very dirty vehicle, a three-row SUV or paint needing extra preparation will extend the work.

What makes the time vary

Vehicle size

A compact and a truck do not have the same surface area, number of seats or wheel wells to treat.

Interior condition

Pet hair, embedded sand, stains and winter salt require extra steps such as extraction.

Paint preparation

Before a ceramic coating, decontamination and polishing take most of the time. They also determine the final result and durability.
